KITCHEN TIP TUESDAY: GETTING RID OF KITCHEN CLUTTER
I have a bad habit of buying too many kitchen gadgets. I see something on sale, and think, "wow, what a good deal" and buy something I probably will never use. So my tip for Kitchen Tip Tuesday is to take all your gadgets, wooden spoons, spatulas, etc. and put them in a box. As you need something go to that box get it out, use it, clean it and put it in the appropriate place. After 12 months of non-use of items in the box, get rid of them and the best part is the stuff is already boxed up. For more great tips and ideas visit here.

Smart idea! What I've been doing is keeping 'duplicates' in a basket to give to my son when he moves into his apartment. I recently bought my third set of measuring cups--hey, I had a gift certificate. But then I realized, I don't need 3 sets, so I put one set aside for him!
Thanks for the tip! I am going to have to do that, cause I can already think of several things that I do not use!
But it's so much fun to try these new toys. I never land up buying it anyway because of that reason. If I am at home and think I could use it, a lot, then I buy it.
Well, I have to admit I agree with Barbara. While I'm giving my son my duplicates, it won't stop me from buying new toys. In fact, I honestly prefer something new for my kitchen over jewelry. How weird am I?
I actually did this when we bombed our house for fleas last summer (we rescued a stray...long story!) Anyway, I packed up my entire kitchen, and to this day, I've only gone out to the garage twice to look for a bowl or pan I knew I had. I still probably won't get rid of that other box, though...I have issues with breaking up whole sets :)
I just "tagged" you. Come on over to my blog to see what that means.
