I have abandoned my blog:( So much has gone on I don't even know where to begin!! First of all we have moved:) I love our new home, it is very spacious and is closer to our family, church, and church family!! My kitchen aww, I just love it

It looks like I am 6 weeks and 4 days so my due date will be June 14, 2012(2 days before Lydia turns 1). I never would have thought I would get pregnant so soon, but God has a plan and a purpose.

5 will be the number of children in our house next summer:) Much to my surprise, Lydia is only 3.5 months and boy was I shocked when 2 bright lines showed up on the test!! I had been feeling yucky and plus I was sooooo tired around 8, which is strange because I normally stay up to 12 or 1. I don't know the due date but I will be going to the doctor on October 25th!! Lots of prayers are needed. Many Blessings to ALL!!!

I can not believe that my sweet baby girl is 7 weeks old!! Wow how time flies!! Before I tell you her birth story, you have to understand the "whole" story!! If you have been following my blog a while you know that I have been through a lot to get this precious gift from God!! I have suffered 4 consecutive miscarriages in the last 5 years, which have been so hard for me and my family.
I had my first child when I was 15, but before you judge, understand it is not what you may think. I met my husband when I was 13 and he was 14. I knew I was going to marry him!! We met at church and were both Christians, but were also very hormonal teenagers(exactly why we are going the courting route with our children). When Hannah was born, it was a joyous occasion, but it was soooo hard being a teenage parent. But my husband and I were determined not to be a statistic!! We waited to get married and not get married just because we had a baby. I was in 9th grade when Hannah was born, but had high expectations for myself to graduate High School. My husband was in 11th grade. We both graduated high school with honors. Two weeks before I graduated, we got married:) Ten months later, when I was 19 and Hannah was 3 years 11 months, we welcomed our sweet little boy, Bryson!! I didn't use birth control, and got pregnant again when Bryson was 13 months old, so he was 22 months old when Haley Grace was born. By this time I was 21 and my husband was 22. He was overwhelmed with the responsibility of supporting a family of 5. Even though, I did not want to, but with respect for my husband, and pressures from other family members, I made one of the worst decisions of my life and got the mirena iud . I kept feeling like I had made a mistake and wanted to have it removed, I felt guilty that I had gotten it, but then I felt guilty that I also wanted another baby!! I prayed about what to do but could not convince my husband to let me remove it. I just put it in God's hands and started researching!! That is when I found out about the quiverfull movement!! That changed my life and I started to pray harder. Then one day while watching tv, I came across this show called "14 children and pregnant again". That is when I fell in love with the Duggars and knew then I had nothing to feel guilty about. God put this instinct in me to want to have children because they are a blessing and a gift from him. I was still praying, and God would work it out:)
When Haley was 18 months old, I suddenly just felt pregnant, so I took a test and it was positive. I was so excited, that I didn't deceive my husband, but God had answered my prayer!! But then the unthinkable happened, I started to bleed, so I went to the er and they did an ultrasound. They told me it was too early to see anything, but to follow up with my doctor on Monday(it was a Sat night). I was still bleeding, so the doctor got me in first thing that morning. She did an ultrasound and saw immediately it was a tubal pregnancy, but the iud wasn't even in the right spot!! I was devastated and begged her to try to save my fallopian tube. She did!! But 3 weeks later I got pregnant again and a few days later I started to get sick. I thought I had the flu, but worse, I kept passing out when I stood up. I knew something was wrong but no one would believe me. It was the day before Thanksgiving and my husband could not get off work. So I called my grandmother to come help me with the kids because they were all so little then. I told her I wanted to call 911, because I really felt like I was dying. So when the paramedics came, they said I had the flu, and they could take me to the er but really there was no point. So they left. Then my cousin came, and I told her I needed to go to the hospital because I was dying(and I really was). When I got there and they took me in the triage, they knew something was wrong because my blood pressure was going up and down and wasn't normal. They took me back immediately and internally examined me and they literally started losing me. I felt like I was leaving my body and was in the worst pain of my life!!! They did an ultrasound and my fallopian tube had ruptured and I was bleeding to death internally!! They took me back for emergency surgery and removed my tube:(
After that my body went crazy. I got pregnant 6 months later but it ended in a very early miscarriage(5 weeks). I then gained 50 pounds and had irregular cycles. Everyone around me got pregnant(I got 4 nephews in one year)!! I had a hard time coping with that, but trusted in God!! At that point my husband was still not quiverfull minded, but did not force me to use any kind of birth control.
Then on November 10, 2008 I finally got a positive pregnancy test!! I was sooo excited. Then at 6 weeks I saw my little peanut had a heartbeat!! But at 16 weeks pregnant, the worst happened and I lost my precious little girl Haven(you can read about that here)
At that point, I didn't know if I would ever have another baby or not, honestly I gave up, but still trusted in Jesus!!!
On October 14, 2010, I had a really rough day. Everyone around me was getting pregnant again, Both my sister and sister-in-law were pregnant, and I was just so upset that I still did not have a baby(but happy for them). Then I thought to myself I am just going to take a pregnancy test just for the fun of it, and I just like taking them, lol.(I keep the dollar store ones on hand). I about passed out when a very faint line showed up. So I went to the store and got another one. It was also positive. I wasn't convinced yet, so I got the digital one and it said.......YES!!! The pregnancy went very well and I had lots of ultrasounds to see my precious little girl.

Around 36 weeks I had a ton of contractions and was already dilated a 2. They would come and would be consistent and then just stop!! After 3 weeks of this, I really couldn't take it anymore. So even though I had planned a natural birth at the birthing center, I was just over it and ready to meet my little girl. So I opted to be induced at 39 weeks and 3 days. I was still planning on not having an epidural, since my labors tend to go fast. But the night before I couldn't sleep and really just wanted to enjoy this labor(I had my other 3 natural, except Hannah I had an epidural, but it didn't work, so I still felt everything). I prayed about it.

WHAT A BIG BELLY!!

So when I got to the hospital at 6 and they asked me if I wanted an epidural I said yes. They hooked me up and I had been having contractions all night, so I believe I was already in labor, because I was dilated a "good" 3-4. I got the epidural before they started anything, because of my fast labor history. It was quit painful, but let me tell you, I felt nothing!!! Then the dr was going to do a c-section on another patient but decided to wait, because the nurse said I was an 8. When he checked me he said the baby was "sunny side up", hence the constant labor pains with no results. So he turned her manually(#1 reason I am glad I got the epidural, #2 there was meconium in the fluid, and I do not believe I could have stopped pushing for them to suction her out. #3 the cord was around her neck, so I had to stop pushing for them to loosen that as well). After he turned her, I started pushing and she was out in 2 pushes(from the epidural until she was born only took 2 1/2 hours). Lydia Hope Anne had made her debut, and it was a day well worth the wait:)

Sorry to be so lengthy, but you had to hear the whole story to understand what this child means to me(not that I love her anymore), but I appreciate and am thankful for the little things. So many times with the other children, I took things for granted, but now I cherish every moment with ALL of them, but especially Lydia, because I don't know if God will give us anymore or not. As far as my husband is concerned, I don't know that he is quiverfull minded yet or not. He does want more children or maybe it is because we are older now, but he is definitely different and more patient this time!! We love these precious gifts from God and could not be more happier!!!

I can not believe I have not posted on my blog since January!! Wow!! I read other people's blog all the time but I forgot all about mine, oops!! Oh well:) I will try to do better:) We have a big announcement!! Lydia Hope Anne has finally made her arrival!! I promise I will post her birth story soon with pictures, but for now here is a sneak peak at her newborn pictures I had made yesterday with Kristen who did such a wonderful job!!! There are more pictures on her sight and I will get the cd with the rest later on!!
Lydia was born June 16, 2011 at 11:28 am. She was 6lbs 7 ozs and was 19 1/2 inches long(the exact weight and length as Haley)!! We love her so much she truly is a blessing after all the miscarriages we have suffered!!

15 Weeks and baby's heartbeat;0

Okay so this week is the week that my baby Haven's heart stopped beating. So I have been listening to this baby's heartbeat everyday:) Last night I recorded it. It such an amazing thing to hear, and to know that a little baby is in there growing:) January 6th, I will be 16 weeks and will go to hear the heartbeat at the doctor and on January 8th we are going to Baby's First Images in Alpharetta, GA to find out what we are having:)

Where have I been??? Everywhere!! We have been so busy and I have been really sick. Everything is going well with my pregnancy. I had another ultrasound today, and it was so amazing seeing my little baby move around. It looks like a baby now, not a peanut. The heartbeat was 169. My due date is June 23. I am almost 12 weeks:) God is so awesome!!!!

Yesterday I went to the birthing center for an ultrasound. I measured at 6 weeks and 3 days with a due date of June 20. The only concern right now is the heartbeat is 114 and they want it to be 120. My hcg levels were 11467 and they wanted them to be well over 12000. I have to go back in Monday for more blood work to make sure that my hcg levels are doubling or they are going to be "really concerned". I have to go back Wednesday for another ultrasound to check "viability". But I know that there is a God and he listens to prayers, so please go in prayer with me that everything will be okay and that this baby is developing and will LIVE!! Sorry I have been so quiet on here, but I have been so busy. I will update soon. But in the mean time I need lots of prayers!!!!!!!!!!!! I got a positive pregnancy test(okay 3 positive tests). So please keep me in your prayers because I have lost 4 babies in the last 3 years:( Proverbs 3:5-7

Summer is gone, Time for school!!!

Wow this summer has just flown by. We have had such a busy summer, but I am ready for cooler weather. It has been so hot lately, but the last few days I could "smell" fall in the air. It has been so hot my poor garden has pretty much died, I only have 2 tomato plants left:( But next year we are definitely going to have a bigger one:)

We started back school last week.
For Hannah(6th) we are using Abeka

For Bryson(2nd) we are using Bob Jones math, English, and reading
For Science, Spelling, and History we are using Abeka.

Haley is in Kindergarten, but she is finishing up her "teacher on line" through abeka academy for Pre-k(we started late she should finish up over the next month). I am not sure what we are doing for Kindergarten, I am still trying to decide. Any suggestions would be great:)

We met some new friends last week from San Antonio, TX. They came to our area for an AIG conference. They stayed with us Monday and Tuesday night. I was sad to see them go. They have 7 children and it was a blast. We hope to see them soon:)

I am super excited about canning my first pickles. I made up 4 jars, but we kinda of already started eating one before I got the picture:) These are Bread and Butter pickles from the Complete book of Home Preserving Book recipe. Here is the recipe:
BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES
10 cups sliced trimmed pickling cucumbers
4 medium onions, thinly sliced(I only used 2)
1/2 cup pickling or canning salt
3 cups white vinegar
2 cups granulated sugar
2 tbsp mustard seeds
1 tsp celery seeds
1 tsp ground turmeric

1. In a bowl combine cucumbers, onions, and salt. Mix well, cover with cold water and let stand at room temperature for 2 hours. Transfer to a colander placed over a sink, rinse with cool running water and drain thoroughly.

2. Meanwhile prepare canner, jars, and lids.

3. In a large saucepan, combine remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring to dissolve sugar. Stir in vegetables and return to boil.

4. Pack vegetables into hot jars to within a generous 1/2 inch of top of jar. Ladle hot pickling liquid into jar to cover vegetables, leaving 1/2 inch head-space. Wipe rim. Center lid on jar. Screw band down until resistance is met, then increase to fingertip-tight.

5. Place jars in canner, insuring they are completely covered with water. Bring to a boil and process for 10 minutes. Remove canner lid. Wait 5 minutes, then remove jars, cool and store.

Since I use pint jars I also added 1/8 tsp of pickle crisp to each jar, because we like crispier pickles. Have you canned anything so far this season??

Monday I started getting a headache:( I thought it was from being sick, but it just kept getting worse. By Tuesday it was severe. Same Wednesday, I could not even go to church. The Doctor called me in imitrex which is supposed to get rid of it, if it is a migraine. So I took 2 Thursday and it did not work:( Then I started to run a fever and my ear was hurting like I had an ear infection. So Friday I went to the doctor(which I do not do unless I am pregnant or it is severe). I had blood work ran and everything came back normal except my iron is low. I had blood in my ear from a busted blood vessel and he said the blood vessels in my eyes looked strained. So he recommended that I go for a vision visit. He adjusted my back and gave me a steroid shot. I have to go back for a physical in about a month. Today I went and had my eye exam, the eye pressure(in which the dr was worried about was normal), however I have astigmatism so I get to wear glasses:( Not all the time, just when I am on the computer, watching tv, driving, reading etc.. pretty much all the time. The good news is My headaches is pretty much gone. After being in the bed for a week, I feel so much better:)

It has been a long couple of days. Strep throat has entered our home. It started Wednesday with Miss Haley, she didn't feel good so she and I didn't go to church. She told me her neck hurt and she was running a fever. Then Thursday morning I woke up and my throat was killing me and Hannah told me her throat was hurting too. So I made them appointments and sure enough Hannah's quick test came back positive for strep and Haley's was negative. But the one they do overnight came back positive. I knew I had it so I called the doctor to call me in some antibiotics. The girls felt good by Saturday but I felt awful I was achy all over like the flu, My temp got up to 103. Today I feel a little better, but I still don't have all my strength back:(

Garden update!!!

My garden is growing wonderfully:) Look here at when we first planted. What a difference??

We had our first "mini" harvest today. It was only 4 cucumbers and one little cherry tomato, but there are lots more tomatoes that need to ripen, and more cucumbers.

We are in awe of gardening and can't wait to do a BIGGER one next year:) Does anyone have any garden tips for me??

How Does Your Refrigerator LOOK!!!

We are trying to eat more healthier. So I went shopping at the Farmers Market, Earth Fare, and The Fresh Market. Of course it is more expensive to eat Whole foods and organics, but we are trying to eat healthier. Our goal is to eat 80% raw, but with that said we are taking it slow. We will first just try to eat one salad a day and work our way up. As far as organics go, one rule of thumb is if it is peeled, it doesn't have to be organic(bananas, avacodas a favorite here, onions, cantaloupe, etc.). Some things are definitely organic(carrots, celery, apples, especially because we juice). After watching Food, inc. and King corn, it really made me think "where my food came from!!" As far as meats, we are trying to cut down, but I have started buying from the farmers market from local farmers, only grass-fed organic ground beef and free range organic chickens(of caourse I still have some chicken and meats that was in my stockpile that we will use first, so you will see those in there:). We are doing it slow so that it is not a big hit in our budget, but it is worth it. Here is a look into my refrigerator and freezer and I would love to see everyone's too. My garden is not very big, but it is my first year. Even so, I am still excited about it. I have a raised garden because our yard is so flat, it floods. I mostly have tomatoes and cucumbers, but also some lettuce and peppers too. Do any of you have any good garden tips for me???

What do I like about being a mother?? Everything!! Honestly I love every stage(so far), that my children have gone through. There is nothing I don't enjoy. Sometimes it is challenging, but it is so worth it. There is nothing more precious than your children coming up to you and giving you a hug saying "I love you mommy". I love tucking my children in at night. I love being able to stay home with them. I love homeschooling them. I love watching them grow and their relationship with God grow. I love the million and one questions they ask me EVERYDAY!!! There is so much I love, I could go on and on. I am not saying that I don't struggle, believe me I do everyday, but I rely on the Lord to get me through it all. I really miss having a baby around and do pray the Lord will bless us with many more children, but if he decides it is not his will, I have 3 wonderful children that I cherish every moment I have with them. They are truly gifts from God and I can not imagine my life without them. I was planning on doing this post last week, before Mother's Day, but the time got away. So Happy Late mother's Day to all you wonderful mothers out there!! Here is a video of one of my favorite songs by Selah. I got several things free, but overall I saved 55%. My total before store discounts and coupons was $180.30. I had $48.47 in coupons plus an extra $8.30, some of them doubled. Plus I saved $41.83 with my Kroger Plus card and I got a $2 coupon for my next trip. I spent $77.39!!!

I don't know but the last few days I have felt so depressed:( I don't know if it is because a lot of my blogger friends are rather pregnant or have had a baby recently and I kinda feel left out(and I am happy for all you). It just still hurts so bad to have lost little Haven, even though I didn't get to see her or hold her, I feel like a piece of me is missing. I don't feel complete. I am so very grateful I have 3 beautiful children to love and hold, but I don't understand why I feel so empty inside. I have prayed and asked God to take this pain from me, and I know he will. I don't understand why things happen. It really frustrates me when I hear of someone mistreating a child, do they not understand what a gift they have??? Oh well sorry to ramble but I just had to get it out. I think I am going to read my Bible now, that always makes me feel better.

Modesty

Lately I have really been praying about if we girls should wear long dresses and long skirts(not above the knee)all the time. It is something I have really been talking about with my husband. We do wear long dresses and long skirts 50% of the time, but I really feel we should wear them 100% of the time(except gauchos when we are riding bikes or hiking, etc). Hannah is not too excited about this. Haley loves wearing dresses. Now modesty necessary does not mean you have to wear dresses or skirts, but I feel that is the right choice for our family. Here are a few bible verses to reflect on:

Of course this is just a few, we get most of ours from thrift stores and eBay. Now keep in mind too it does not do any good to wear long skirts or dresses if it has a a slit way up, is too tight, or your top is too low cut.

Easter 2010!!!

We had a wonderful Easter Sunday with Family and friends:) Here are the pictures including the ones from the Easter Egg Hunt Saturday April 2nd with our church.

Two Pictures up is of Bryson and my baby brother Dylan. They both are 7, Dylan is 5 months older than Bryson, but he looks like he is about 3 years older. It is so neat having a brother and son the same age. What is more interesting is that Hannah has an uncle 3 1/2 years younger than her. Dylan lives in GA(where we are from), and is on spring break this week, so he is staying with us. I will miss him so much when he is gone. I miss all my family in GA, especially him:( The first picture of Hannah shows her prize for the most eggs. She was especially excited because next year she will be too old to hunt:(

Haley's Glasses!!

My sweet 5 year old has to wear glasses. She has a lazy eye(it is not that noticeable), and if it is not better in 3 months she will have to wear a patch over the "good" eye to strengthen the weak one. I had no idea she needed glasses, she seemed like she could see fine. In September 2008 I took all 3 of them because Hannah was complaining of headaches. She just needed reading glasses. Bryson's eyes were fine. They said Haley needed them then, but I wanted to get a second opinion, because she seemed fine. Now I feel really bad because we didn't go sooner. She wore her other ones, but they got broke when we were moving, so she has gone 4 months without them. Oh well you live in learn.

Saint Patrick's Day!!

Today we celebrated Saint Patrick's Day.
We celebrated this morning with Irish Oatmeal(Please excuse the pictures, I have misplaced my camera and these are from my phone).

For lunch we had baked chicken with "green spices"(basil, parsley, etc.), broccoli, and green beans.

For dessert we had "green" cupcakes!!!

We also learned some interesting facts about Saint Patrick's Day and the Shamrock. Patrick was not born in Ireland but went there after God called him to go. He used the Shamrock to explain the Trinity. We colored some shamrocks and wrote short stories on what we learned:)

It has been an interesting year. We have had a lot of struggles. From sickness(H1n1 flu) to moving and we have not been on a good schedule. It will probably not be until June or July before we finish school. With that said, Hannah is doing well we use all Abeka 5th grade for her. I do not use the teacher curriculum, I just have the teacher edition for math and language, plus the test teacher keys. For Haley we are using the teacher on Dvd through Abeka(Which has been wonderful, because I also babysit a 3 year old and 1 year old, so it really helps). For Bryson we tried to use Abeka, but I felt like he has not catching on as quickly, so I have basically started over with him to fill in the holes. We are using Phonic Pathways to help with his reading. He reads pretty well but I just want to make sure he really gets it. For Math we are using Alpha Omega Horizons for 1st grade. For Reading we are using the Abeka Readers and we are also continuing using Abeka for Language.
We had already finished Abeka Science and History so we are now using Bob Jones( I got them at Cedar Springs Christian Bookstore, they sale used curriculum). They are older versions but we are really enjoying them. That is basically everything. Soon I am going to do a post on Gardening. We are having our first garden this year and can't wait to start our series on Gardening(after Easter). I hope everyone has a blessed day!!!

Wow it is hard to believe it has been a month since I last blogged. I have just been so busy. I always visit other people's blogs but I seem to forgot about my own. I have got to do better. So much has gone on, I don't even know where to begin. First off my sweet little boy had his 7th birthday on March 11. I can't believe it. This past weekend my husband and I went on a youth trip with our church. (If you checkout the website you will see our Christmas service is on there and Hannah has a solo.) We have been doing a lot of school and I am going to post on that soon. Here are a few pictures from the last few months.

New recipe, trying asparagus! "kitchen diva's lemon chicken with asparagus"

We tried this recipe for lunch today and I have to say it was absolutely delicious. Believe it or not I have never tried asparagus before and neither have the children, and we loved it, in this recipe. Here it is

The Kitchen Diva’s Lemon Chicken with Asparagus

4 (4-oz each) skinless, boneless, chicken breasts (You can also use 4 (4-oz) skinless fish fillets instead of chicken in this recipe.)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon poultry seasoning

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon pepper

4 garlic cloves, chopped

1 red bell pepper, stem removed, seeded, and diced

1/2 pound asparagus, cut into 1-inch pieces

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1/2 cup low sodium chicken stock or water

2 cups cooked brown rice or whole wheat couscous

Directions

Rinse the chicken under cold water. Pat the pieces dry with food-safe paper towels. Season the chicken with the poultry seasoning, salt and pepper.

In a large, non-stick skillet, heat the oil over medium high heat. Add the chicken to the skillet. Cook the chicken about 5 minutes. If you are using fish, adjust the cooking time to 3 to 4 minutes per side. Turn the pieces over and cook for another 5 minutes or until golden brown. Stir in the garlic and the red pepper. Add the asparagus and cook for 1 minute. Stir in the zest and the chicken stock or water and turn the heat to low. Cover and cook for 3 to 5 minutes. Serve immediately over hot rice or couscous.

Today marks the one year mark of finding out our little baby Haven Joy was not longer alive at almost 5 months pregnant. It has been so hard, but God is helping me through this. I know when God is ready I will have another baby and everything I have gone through will be worth it(not that losing a baby is something I would ever want to happen again). I am very blessed though, I have 3 healthy children that I am very thankful that God has blessed me with:)

On another note my sweet little boy broke his nose on Superbowl Sunday. He was trying to get his hat from Haley and she hit him in the nose with the back of her head. Poor little boy, but we went to the Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor and they said every thing would be okay. I hope everyone has a blessed week, and I hope to blog more!!!!!!!

Menu planning for the rest of the week (Eat from the pantry challenge)

Today I went through my pantry and freezer and wrote down everything I have on hand. I have come up with a menu and I think I might make it to the last week of January if I try really hard. I had a lot more food than I thought, just not much in the freezer. I normally go to Kroger when they have their meat on sale and stock up on it. Well I have not stocked up on meat since the first of Nov. so I don't have that much. There will be a lot of vegetarian meals over the next month. One way I make the hamburger meat last is by cooking up the whole pound with onions and I take half and put it away for another meal. Like spaghetti and/or chili. I really can't tell a difference and that helps the meat stretch. Here is the menu for the rest of the week:

Tuesday: Breakfast- granola with milk(like cereal)
Lunch-Turkey burgers, broccoli, and corn
Dinner- linguine with vodka sauce and Parmesan garlic bread sticks

Wednesday: Breakfast-biscuits and gravy
Lunch- Ramen noodles
Dinner- slow cooker corn chowder

Thursday: Breakfast- granola with milk
Lunch- leftovers
Dinner- chili(put half meat away for Sat. spaghetti)

Friday: Breakfast- toast and eggs
Lunch-split pea soup
dinner-Salmon, pasta, corn, dinner rolls

Saturday: Breakfast-pancakes

Dinner-spaghetti

First Post of 2010 and Eating from Pantry Week 1!!

This is my first post of the new year. Time really does fly. We went through so much last year from losing a precious baby, Haven, to getting a new car, meeting the Duggars, moving and so much more. I do hope this is a better year for us. Today we started back school after a 6 week break due to us moving, getting the swine flu, and of course the celebration of the birth of Lord Jesus Christ!!! It is taking a lot to get the children motivated but we will get there. I also had to make a run to the grocery store and I spent more than I anticipated, but we were out of a few staples. I got 2 gallons of milk, 8 cans of beans(black, kidney, chili), cheese, eggs, rice, sugar, one loaf of bread( I plan on making some for the rest of the challenge), spaghetti sauce, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. I spent $46 ouch... but I plan on spending less than $10 next week(just on milk and eggs), My goal was $20 a week but I think I am going to up to $100 for the whole month. Basically I have $54 for the rest of the month. I really don't know if I can make though the whole month, because I really haven't went on a "real" grocery shopping trip since we moved in our new house December 1st. I have ran and got this or that, and I went on one trip and got food for our family Christmas dinner. I will go as long as I can without going to the grocery store. Hopefully I can make it at least 3 weeks from today maybe 4. The problem is I think my children are going through growth spurts. They eat everything on their plate and they are still hungry so it seems like we are eating more food around here. Tonight I am going to make out a menu plan for the rest of the week. Today:
Breakfast: scrambled eggs and toast
Lunch: homemade pizza(homemade dough, sauce, cheese)
Dinner: fried rice and baked peanut chicken

How was everyone's Christmas??? Ours was great. I hope to post some pictures really soon but I have still not unpacked,so I have lost my camera. we have been so busy. My goal for the new year is to blog more, because I do really enjoy it even though I don't have many viewers, I do enjoy the few people who do comment. Thanks:) Here are a few pictures from my phone of the new house we moved into. The first Saturday we were here December 5th it snowed(first for the year), and also some of our tree. We made sure when we moved to keep our Christmas items separate. I have lots of ideas for upcoming post including a new healthy eating style I plan on going on..... so Stay tuned... Eat from the Pantry Challenge!!

I will be joining Crystal and jessica in eating from your pantry. This is a great idea because I really want to switch over to healthier diet(80% raw, that is a whole different post), but I have so much food from coupons(free items), that I need to get rid of it. I will start this January 1st. My goals are to go to the store only 4 times(once each week), to get fresh produce, milk, eggs, etc. I plan to only spend a maximum of $20 for each trip. A total of $80. I usually spend $300-$400, because I get a lot of organic items. This will be a great challenge for me, but I believe I can do it. I will try to update at least once a week to tell you what we have ate, and maybe even post pictures if I can find my camera from the move. If you would like to join head on over to Crystal's blog.

Time!~Where has is gone?

It has been a while since I have blogged. There has been so much going on and well it has been a hard year for me. It is not easy getting over losing a precious gift from God. But I have to continue to trust in him. On another note we are moving, to a cheaper house. We are excited and as soon as we get settled in I plan on blogging a whole lot more, but right now we are packing and scheduled to move December 1st. We are going to Ga tomorrow for a couple of days for Thanksgiving and then back home to finish up packing. It is crazy that the time has flown by so fast, before we know it is going to be a new year and hopefully a better year. Well I hope to be back very soon and I while post pictures of the new house. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

Homemaking Tip for this week:
Once a week, I bleach my bathrooms with the clorox spray, it helps keep them shiny white. Of course you need to wear a mask, the spray is not as strong as the actual bleach.

Wow so much has gone on. The last week has been crazy. Last Monday, June 30 my car got broken into. They stole my purse and my husband's gps. They broke the window so I had to do an insurance claim, and I am still in a rental car, that only seats 5. Not to mention the last two weeks I have been sick. Today the Duggars were in Dollywood and I got to meet them. They are truly a great family. I even did an interview with the camera people so who knows I might be on their show(I do not like the camera, but oh well). Here are the pictures.

I got my lab results back today. Good news is I do not have a blood clotting disorder, how ever my insulin is high and they are putting me on metformin. It is usually given to people with type 2 diabetes, I do not have that but they do believe I have PCOS. This will help regulate my cycles which will help me get pregnant, help me lose weight, and help prevent miscarriages once I get pregnant. Still there is really no answer as to why my sweet little Haven passed away, but I do know God is in control. So what ever happens I will put my trust in Him.

This last week has been really hard. Every time I see a pregnant woman or a little baby girl, I just want to cry. How I am suppose to get through this? Why is life sometimes just too hard to bare? I do not understand it. Then I think about Jesus, and what he did for me on that cross, and realize he understands. Only He can get me through this.
On another note, I have lost 6 pounds and 16 1/3 inches throughout my body. I am thankful that I am finally getting healthy. Physically I feel great, mentally, well that is another issue. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

In Memory of Haven Joy Fox!!

Today I went back to the doctor and they told me our precious baby was a girl. She had no chromosomal problems, so they believe that I have some kind of blood clotting disorder. They drew about 10 tubes of blood to test for several different problems that could cause a miscarriage. I will know the results in about 2 weeks. I was doing better but when they told me she was a girl, it really made me realize that she was real. We have decided to call her Haven(means a safe place and that is where she is with Jesus in a safe place) Joy(she truly was a joy even through this difficult time). We are considering her birth date to be February 20, because even though she wasn't alive when she was born, she still was a person and had a soul. I look at Hannah and Haley and wondered if she looked like them or if she would of had curly hair like they had. I wonder what color her eyes and hair would of been. What kind of personality she would of had. This is so hard, I just don't see how anyone could kill a baby. The doctor said I can try to get pregnant again after I have two cycles. Everyone just keep me in your prayers.

My sweet little Bryson turns 6 today. I can't believe how fast my babies are growing.

I have started a new chapter in my life. I joined a gym. I never thought I would step foot in a gym but I have been going since Sunday. The best part is they have a daycare, so I can go early in the afternoon around 10 and there are not that many people there. The doctors blame my two years of infertility on my weight, so my goal is to lose it. I still don't buy it, because I see women way bigger than me having children all the time. During my pregnancy I lost 5 pounds due to the morning sickness, and I lost another 10 after I lost the baby due to depression and not eating. Now that I am exercising, I have not gained any of that weight back, even though I am eating now. My goal is to go to the gym Monday thru Friday and take the weekend off. I hope to lose another 75 pounds.

A new Beginning!!!

These last few weeks have been so hard. I have no words, a part of me has been angry with God, but I know that God did not do this to hurt me. It is so aggravating knowing the number of people that kill their baby everyday, and I can't just have one more baby. But after telling God my feelings of that everyday, he has brought to my attention, my ungratefulness in what he has already given me. Some people go through several miscarriages and never have a baby but I already have 3 healthy children. I have a wonderful supportive husband whom is very understanding with my mood changes. I always go back to my favorite scriptures in the Bible.

Proverbs 3:5-12

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
7 Be not wise in your own eyes;
fear the LORD, and turn away from evil.
8 It will be healing to your flesh
and refreshment to your bones.

9 Honor the LORD with your wealth
and with the first fruits of all your produce;
10 then your barns will be filled with plenty,
and your vats will be bursting with wine.

11 My son, do not despise the LORD’s discipline

From now on I will put my trust and faith in God even though it is not always easy. I will be grateful for what I have and not be selfish. If God gives me another baby I will be grateful but if he decides not to I will still be grateful. God knows the desires of my heart, but it is truly up to him and I will praise and worship him no matter what.

The past week and a half has been so hard. Friday my surgery went okay, but they did put me to sleep. I did not get to see the baby because they basically just sucked it out of me like it was not a human being. That really bothered me, but the doctor insisted it was the safest way for me. I cry myself to sleep almost every night and a lot through out the day. This is so hard. I go back to the doctor March 20 and they will tell me the results of the chromosomal test and I thing they are doing genetic test too so we will know the sex and can give our baby a name. My husband has been so sweet and has helped me so much. Yesterday my milk came down. They told me this wouldn't happen, but considering I was almost 5 months, it did anyways. I have always breastfed, so I am not used to this. I know God has a plan even though I am having a hard time understanding why this happened. Please pray for me, I really need all the prayers I can get.

Sad News!!!!

I know it has been a while since I last updated, but I do not have good news. I was at Wal-mart Saturday with Hannah. As I was in the checkout lane I started to feel really dizzy. I told Hannah she needed to call her daddy because I did not believe I could drive home. As I told her that I passed out. I do not know how long I was unconscious but it wasn't long. My husband came and the ambulance came everything seemed to be okay but they still sent me to the hospital. They went ahead and sent me to maternity since I was almost 17 weeks pregnant. They could not get a heartbeat so they sent me for an ultrasound and still no heartbeat and the baby was only measuring 15 weeks. They gave me no hope, but sent me home since my midwives were not associated with that hospital and told be to go Monday to my midwives. I called this morning and they told me to come on in and 30 minutes called me back and sent me to a specialist for another ultrasound. I was hoping for a miracle and my entire church family and family were praying for one too. Unfortunately the baby is dead and has been for several weeks. My heart is broke. I thought for sure this time everything would be okay especially since I made it past the first trimester. I would rather not have a miscarriage, but I sure do not want one now. I will be awake for the procedure and I hope that they will let me see my baby and tell me what it is. I am more heartbroken for my children for they prayed for me to get pregnant and 2 weeks later I found out I was pregnant. They have cried as much as I have. Please keep us in your prayers through this hard time!!!!!!!

I went to my appointment yesterday, and I am happy to say that we have an active little baby. Him/her heartbeat was 160 bpm. The midwife kept trying to count but my precious baby would not stay still. Satan tried to convince all month long that something was wrong and that is why they couldn't get the heartbeat, but I have faith in God and knew everything would be okay. You see after I had my last miscarriage in April 07, I prayed to God and said I would rather not ever get pregnant if I was going to have to go through anymore loss. I do believe that he listened, because he will only give you what you can handle. So I do know that everything is okay and Satan is a LIAR!!!! My next appointment will be March 3 and we will also have the sonogram/ultrasound that day. I will be 19 weeks and 1 day when we have that done. I know some people would rather wait, but I have to know and so does my husband. I am still have an occasional sickness but it is definitely better than it was. God Bless!!!!

I know it has been a while since I posted, but I have been so busy. At 12 weeks and 2 days the nausea has finally subsided. I do not have it everyday, and on the days I get it, it is not as bad. With that being said today has been the worst day since then. I have also had a lot of headaches lately. Sometimes I think I feel the baby move, like little bubbles, but it may just be gas, I am not sure it is still early. Monday I will be 14 weeks and I go to the doctor Thursday.
On another note my sweet baby girl turned 4 Monday January 19. We are having her birthday party tomorrow so Hopefully I will update with pictures. Below is the picture I used for her birthday invitations.

We have been so busy, with taxes and other things. We have had doctor appointments one after another this month. The children had to go to the Dentist to get cavities filled. Haley has severe eczema so bad that her back feels like scales, so she had to go to the dermatologist. He has her on two creams(one for the face, one for the body), steroid(just for 6 days to clear her up, because she is so itchy), and Clarine x for allergies to relieve her as well. Even with insurance it cost $110($20 copay doctor, $90 copay for medications). Then my dear husband had to go to the dentist to get 3 fillings and while he was there they suggested he have that wisdom tooth pulled on that side, "to save money". I do not think he realized what he did until after it was done. It took almost 24 hours before it stopped bleeding and then he had to take two vacation days. That cost $147. Plus $18 for his medication. So needless to say money is really tight around here. But that is okay because God always provides. Anyways I hope to update sooner. Blessings to ALL!!!

Wow I can't believe tomorrow will already be the 9th. I am still having sickness. I will be 12 weeks Monday. I went to the doctor last week and everything looked well my uterus is growing, but they couldn't get the baby's heartbeat. Right now they are not concerned because a) I was only 10 weeks and 1 day b) My uterus is tilted which makes it more difficult, and c) I have belly fat which makes it even more difficult. I go back the 28th, and I will be 14 weeks so they should hear it by then. A part of me wants to doubt, but I know that God gave me this baby and knows I can not handle another loss. Besides I prayed and asked God not to let me get pregnant and go through that again, so I know he will answer my prayer. Just keep me in your prayers, it has been really hard with all the stress and worry. I have been sick all day and have had a hard time just getting out of the bed. We started back school this week after a 3 week break, and that has been hard too. Hannah is fine, because she is very independent, but I have to sit down and do everything with Bryson. I am so behind on laundry. I have most of it washed, but we are digging out of baskets, even for towels. That is very embarrassing to admit but it is the truth. I know this too will pass and in the end it will be worth it ALL. I have no regrets. Blessings to everyone.

Though I do not agree with Ray Boltz's recent confession of being gay, I do love this song and this video. I do not see how anyone could abort a precious gift from God. I was a young teenage mother and yet I survived. If there is no way you can raise a baby at least give it a chance, there are plenty of people out there that would take care of a baby that can not have one.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while but I have been hit hard by Morning sickness. It has not been easy. I am very tired all the time. I am going to take a break for a while. I go back to the doctor next Tuesday. Maybe I will update at the beginning of the new year with pictures, that is just next week. This year has flown by. The nausea has officially started. It doesn't seem to be as bad as it was with Haley. With Hannah I didn't have any, I didn't even know I was pregnant until 6 months. With Bryson it came and went, and only certain smells would make me vomit. With Haley it was non stop every day until I had her. Even though I don't like it, it is a sign that everything is okay. Fudge Popsicles seem to help, I haven't vomited yet and I hope I don't, that is the worse part. I have also had a lot of heartburn. The 6th week is behind me and I am in my 7th, it so crazy I found out I was pregnant so soon. I guess somethings you just know. I bought a fetal Doppler off eBay but it is still too early to hear anything. I will try every week until I do. We have had a lot going on with Holidays and will be going to my Mom's house Friday in South Carolina. I hope everyone has a great Day.

Well today was the big day. It has been a long week. At so many times I have had so much doubt. I was so scared. As I waited in the waiting room I was so nervous. My heart was pounding and my hands were sweaty. The called my name and we(dh and children) all went back. She tried to see on my belly and thought she saw a heartbeat, but said we had to do it trans vaginal. As soon as she inserted it, I saw my precious blessing. It's heart was beating 124 beats per minute. I am 6 weeks and 1 day, so my due date is July 27. This is so surreal. After, I talked to one of the midwives and my progesterone level has gone up to 21.47, Praise the lord, and my hcg is over 7700. They said "It looks to be a viable pregnancy, but you are not are out the woods yet." I do not believe that I AM GOING TO HAVE A BABY IN JULY. Thank you so much for your prayers and please continue to pray. I have to go next week for an early glucose test, I am guessing because of my weight. I go December 30 for my next OB appointment. Here is our precious little baby. (sorry for the quality.)

New pregnancy update!!!

They just called and my hcg levels are at 1345 but my progesterone levels went down to 8.2. That is quiet concerning. However I did start my progesterone supplements yesterday. They 100 mg and I have to take 2 a day. I go back in Monday for another blood retest and Tuesday for the Ultrasound. They should know by then if it is ectopic or not. I don't care what they may believe or what they are saying about my blood levels God is in control. Please pray for me, I will be glad when I know every thing is okay. By Monday my Hcg levels should be at around 10,000 and even if my progesterone just goes up a little that is a good sign. I hope everyone has a HAPPY THANKSGIVING, and I will update Tuesday.

My hcg levels did double like they were supposed to. However my progesterone levels went down to 9.9 and they like it to be above 10. I am about to go right now for another set of blood work. Please pray for me. I need my levels to go up. She is putting me on a progesterone pill. I am believing that everything will be okay.

I am not sure who is who!! James is 5lbs 11ozs and 19 1/4 inches long. Benjamin is 6lbs 8ozs and 18 34 inches long. That is pretty big for twins considering they were 5 weeks early. It is funny Nina and my husband even though they are 4 years apart could pass for twins. These boys look more like my husband than my kids do.

So I was Wal-mart looking at the toys for Christmas. I come across this "cute" little mommy doll for $19.99. I called my sister to tell her it would be a cute present for Haley. She said "no", that doll is evil. It says "Islam is the Light", I about passed out when I went and played that doll. Wal-mart refuses to take it off the shelf because the manufacture has not recalled it. What is this world coming to? If that doll would have said "Jesus is the light" the wicked world would have recalled it immediately. I encourage everyone to call the Fisher Price and demand them to recall this item or refuse to buy anything else from them. We have got to stand up for Christ. HCG Levels, and twins on the way!!! update

Not me, I am not having twins that I know of. My mother-in-law called me to tell me that my sister-in-law is in the hospital having her twins. She is only 34 weeks so keep her in your prayers. The midwife called me and told me my hcg level is 31.5 which is 3-5 weeks pregnant and my progesterone level is 11.6 which she said is normal. I am starting to feel really queasy and nauseous( which is good). I go back Thursday for more blood work and my hcg level should be around 260(give or take a little). I know it will be!!!!!

The twins have arrived. Benjamin and James are here and healthy. One weighs almost 7 pounds and the other almost 6. They are doing well and we hope to go visit them in Mississippi this weekend.

Over the weekend I have struggled with so much doubt, about this pregnancy. I trust in the Lord but I have been through so much loss over the past 2 years, I am scared. Saturday night I was reading my bible and came across this:

22And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

With that being said, I pray and claim that everything is going to be okay and in July I am going to have a strong, healthy baby. I know I will feel better once I see that baby on the ultrasound screen or I hear his/her heartbeat for the first time. But I gave it all(doubt worry, ect.) to Jesus. I have Faith in God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First Appointment!!!

Today I went to Orientation at the Birthing Center that I have chosen to use. I have always wanted to have a water birth and I finally get an opportunity, because in Georgia, where I lived there was no where to have a water birth except home. Home Births are great, but I don't think I am ready for that yet. While I was there they were able to work me in for my first appointment. Everything looks good so far. Then she scheduled me for an ultrasound. So I met my dh at Olive Garden we had lunch and went back to the center. She could not see the baby which means I am really early. I figured as much because I usually know when I am pregnant pretty early. I would say that I am 3-4 weeks and if that is the case they should be able to see the baby within another 3-4 weeks. Needless to say I am exhausted after running around all day. I was at the center 3 times. But I am enjoying every minute of it. I love being pregnant and am so thankful God has given me another chance. Monday they are supposed to call me with my hcg level and it should give an "estimate" of how far along I am. Those words seem so foreign but so right. This morning I took another test with my first morning urine. It was a ept digital and after the longest 3 minutes, it said pregnant. I then took the other one that was in the pack later in the day and it said pregnant as well. Then I went to the health Department and took another one and it was positive. So after 7 tests, I AM PREGNANT!!!!!! Yeah, I am so excited, there are just no words. I feel in my heart this is right. In the morning I am going to a Birthing Center for orientation, and my first appointment will be 11/25/08 unless they can get me one earlier. They will do an ultrasound to confirm that it is not ectopic, and I am believing and praying that it is not. I do not have a due date but my guess is mid July. My children are so excited. It is so funny the other day Hannah said "Mommy are we ever going to have another baby" I told her we could pray. So this is how it went. I said "Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this day and the time we have together, Hannah and I agree and claim in Jesus name, that we will be blessed with a baby, if it is your will. In fact we will be happy with twins" and she said " We will take triplets", I had to control my self from laughing. But you see with all seriousness, I believe that God has given me another chance to be a mommy again. So many times when I was pregnant with the other 3 I took advantage of being pregnant and not enjoying it. I was young and naive and listened to everyone else telling me it is not normal to want a big family. But now I will not listen to anyone telling me different that what I feel in my heart is right. GOD is in control of everything in my life and I give it all to him. Thank you for letting me vent. I hope everyone has a blessed week!!!

I took 3 more tests, and all of them had very faint lines. They are not evaporation lines because they show up in 3 minutes. My last cycle was Sep 15, but I do not believe I got pregnant 14 days after that. I know my body and this makes my 8th pregnancy, so pretty early I know the signs. My breasts have been really sore, and for the last 4 nights I have been getting up at least twice to go to the restroom(sorry if I am too graphic). I have also been feeling extremely tired. This all has been going on since early last week. I have waited so long for this, and do not mind any symptoms in fact I am enjoying them. I just pray I do not get hit with nausea. I will hopefully be going to the doctor in the next week or so. Please Keep me in your prayers.

Let me first say I am so grateful for all I have and especially for Jesus who loves me no matter what. After two years of trying to have a baby, this morning I took a pregnancy test and got a faint line. I have prayed about this so much and know that is a miracle. My cycles have not been normal since I had Haley in January 2005. I am not confirming anything right now but I believe in my heart God is finally allowing me to be a mommy again. I have but all in God's hand. Everything is up to him. I am so excited and will keep you all informed. I really need everyone's prayers right now. Blessings, Delilah

I have been so busy lately that I have not had time to blog. First off I am very upset about the recent election. But God is still in control!!! I did my part and voted and that is all I can do. God is still on the throne and I do believe that our Lord Jesus Christ is coming back for his people very soon. Second I am also upset because one of my favorite magazines has come to an end. Hidden Wisdom was a very inspiring magazine, and I sure will miss reading it. Speaking of Which, Tanya who has a blog called Beautiful Calling was on the front page of the Last HW magazine, along with Shelby who has a blog as well. We are very busy these days getting ready for the upcoming holidays, but through it ALL I will keep my focus on the Lord.

The last few days have been so busy. Hannah has been complaining of headaches lately and it has had me worried to death. I told my mother in law and she said when she was Hannah's age, she had headaches and needed glasses. Then I told my grandmother and she said the same thing. Friday I took Hannah to the op and sure enough she needs glasses(reading or computer). When she was a baby, they said she had a lazy eye, but it should go away, well it never did. I asked the doctor when should I bring the other 2 in. He said children should be seen at 3 months, at 1 year, and then every year after that. Monday I took the other two. Bryson has a little astigmatism, but he is okay. Haley supposedly has a hard time focusing, base on the test they gave. She has to wear glasses for 6 months then go to a follow up appointment. I don't know how that is going to work. I can not even keep a hair bow in her hair. I will post pictures when their glasses come in.

Today, after weeks of patience, my sweet little boy has had a breakthrough in Reading. I remember last year getting so frustrated and impatient with him. I was ready to give up homeschooling all together. Thanks to The Maxwells and Teri's Homeschooling with a Meek and Quiet Spirit, and of course the Lord God, I feel that I am doing the right thing. A lot of the times it is not the children but our won attitudes as to why we get so frustrated. I remember the second day of school this year, I got so frustrated with Bryson that I raised my voice and he started balling. Then I started crying, I had to apologize to him and to God for my attitude. He is just a little boy. I am still new at this and have a lot to learn. We just started homeschooling last year and Hannah was in the 3rd grade, so she already knew how to read and her basic math. But I know through the grace of God, I can do this. Children are such little gifts from God and I could not see me doing anything else except being here with these children all day teaching and learning from them about how great our Saviour is. Drugs?
With Hannah I had the works, pitocin, epidural that did not take, and everything else.
Bryson just the pitocin no pain medicine
Haley just the pitocin and no pain medication.

C-section?
Up until 37 weeks Hannah was bottom first, but thankfully at the last minute she was head down. My babies came to fast to even think about a c-section, thank God!!!

Who delivered?
Dr. Bradshaw with Hannah,he was okay. But Dr. Brogden with Bryson and Haley, I love her so much. She is a Christian and now she is all of my family's ob.

I am entering in this Photo Contest at 5minutesformom. Summer would not be summer without water!! There is a water park near our house and my husband took the children there one day and he took 150 photos. I thought this was the best one, it really shows the girls having fun with the water squirting up. We have since went back 3 more times. The children are always begging to go. I think this picture really shows the spirit of Summer.
